The current hydrogen and fuel cell activities at New Jersey's colleges and
universities provide a strong foundation upon which the Hydrogen Learning Center is being established. The Hydrogen Learning Center will provide opportunities for hands-on demonstrations, tours of facilities and other activities to enhance public knowledge in subjects of hydrogen and fuel cells. In addition, this website provides general infromation on hydrogen and fuel cells and information targeted to policymakers.

The Hydrogen Learning Center will help to facilitate collaboration and networking among stakeholders. This will help to build upon the activities associated with the current demonstration projects to enhance and increase discussion among policymakers, educators, students, and other stakeholders. In addition, the Hydrogen Learning Center will contribute to the development of courses to be integrated in to the curricula at New Jersey’s colleges and universities.

The Hydrogen Learning Center is comprised of university members that have fuel cell facilities on their campuses who have joined together to develop hydrogen and fuel cell educational modules and host networking meetings.Significantly, the center itself need not be limited to current locations. In fact, it is envisioned that the center can incorporate any university based demonstration site into a “distributed” Hydrogen Learning Center. This would maximize the ability for students and other stakeholders to obtain hands-on learning experiences at facilities close to their communities.
