CUPR Press, the publications unit of the Center for Urban Policy Research, publishes work by scholars and practitioners in urban planning, community and economic development, fiscal impact analysis, transportation, public policy, and related fields. Praised as the “press of record” in these areas, CUPR has published continuously since 1969.
Books and monographs published by CUPR Press serve planning professionals and academics and are widely adopted as texts in colleges and universities throughout the United States and abroad.
Several titles have received special recognition:
- Introduction to Planning History in the United States (Krueckeberg). Continuously in print since 1983 and now in its eighth printing, this is CUPR Press’s most widely adopted planning text.
- Competitive Manufacturing (Rosenfeld) and Households and Housing (Clark and Dieleman): “Outstanding Academic Books” (Choice journal)
- The Subdivision and Site Plan Handbook (Listokin and Walker): “Planner's Library ‘Great Book’” (American Planning Association)
- The Latest Illustrated Book of Development Definitions (Moskowitz and Lindbloom): New Jersey Planning Officials, 2004 Achievement in Planning Award.
The Press’s publications continually receive high praise in reviews by professional and academic journals in planning and related fields.
The Press has published more than 150 titles and mails semiannual catalogs to 60,000 readers. In addition to books and monographs, the Press issues the CUPR Working Papers series and CUPR Policy Reports.
