The Review of Regional Studies
The Official Journal of the Southern Regional Science Association
 Manuscript Submission

The focus of The Review is based on the founding vision of the SRSA; papers of potential interest are those that examine social, economic, political and behavioral phenomena, which have a spatial dimension. Subscribers include individuals and libraries in North America, Europe, and Asia, U.S. government agencies, and U.S. Federal Reserve banks.  In addition, articles are included in the EBSCO online database with a one-year lag, which has over 6,000 subscribers worldwide.

All manuscripts submitted to The Review of Regional Studies cannot simultaneously be under review at another journal.  All initial submissions of manuscripts should be in MS Word or pdf format.  Final versions must be in Word (see style guidelines). The name(s), affiliation(s) and complete address(es) of the author(s), title of the paper, and other identifying statements should be on a first unnumbered page.  This page will be removed before the manuscript is sent to the referees.  The first numbered page of the paper should contain the title, abstract, and the beginning of the text, but no reference to the author(s) that would allow the referees to identify the author(s) or the affiliation(s).

As a general rule, the paper should be no longer than 35 pages in 12 point Times Roman font, including references, tables and figures.  The main body of the paper should be double-spaced.  Mathematical notation, graphics, and tables should be held to the minimum required for presentation of the material. If provided, graphics should be clear, even when printed in gray tones. Also tables should be entitled and include sufficient notation that the material contained within them are self-explanatory.

Manuscripts will be acknowledged upon receipt through the upload function on this website, and will receive prompt consideration. After an initial assessment of the suitability of the manuscript for THE REVIEW by one of the co-editors, the manuscript will be sent to at least two referees for double-blind review.  The goal of the editors is to complete the review and respond to the author(s) within three months. For manuscripts invited to be resubmitted for further consideration, both the referee comments and comments by the editor will be provided to the author(s) to facilitate revision.
