NJPPRI Second Annual Policy Leadership Conference
Legislative Networking Reception
Masonic Lodge, Trenton, New Jersey
Wednesday, May 7, 2003
In May 2002, the New Jersey Public Policy Research Institute held its
first Legislative Networking Reception. The function brought together
over 400 prominent political figures and community leaders throughout
the state to recognize the contributions of the Black and Latino Caucus
to New Jersey politics. Building upon the tremendous success of that
event, in 2003 NJPPRI expanded its efforts to recognize state policy
innovators and, particularly, to inform the public about issues in New
Jersey's black community by holding a full-day policy conference and
reception. The 2003 evening reception served as a kick-off to the next
day's proceedings. Once again, an impressive number of leaders in the
public, private, and nonprofit sectors throughout New Jersey came together
for a unique opportunity to exchange ideas.
