feed What is this?
This symbol represents a RSS web feed. RSS stands for Real Simple Syndication. RSS "feeds" information to you from a web site. Web feeds provide web content with links to the full versions of the content. In addition to facilitating syndication, web feeds allow a website's frequent readers to track updates on the site using an aggregator, like iTunes,Yahoo! or Sakai.
What is a Podcast?
"Podcasting" was coined in 2004, combining the words "iPod" and "broadcast". However, you don't need an iPod to enjoy podcasting. You can watch our video clips and listen to the audio files right on your computer or download them to your handheld video or audio player. If you subscribe to the RSS feed (see above) you can get updates without having to visit the site.

Podcasting's initial appeal was to allow individuals to distribute their own "radio shows," but the system quickly became used in a wide variety of other ways, including distribution of school lessons, official and unofficial audio tours of museums, conferences, meetings, alerts and updates.
