PENNS NECK AREA EIS February 21, 2003 Correspondence from Paula McGuire From: Paula McGuire Sent: Friday, February 21, 2003 12:02 PM To: Jon Carnegie Subject: re: two additional alternatives Dear Jon, I would like you to have my response also to the two new alternatives presented to the Roundtable on February 10. The Roundtable has been receiving for a long time information about 18 road-based alignments and their impact on traffic. I have been eagerly awaiting comparable information on the environment and am gratified that it is being presented to us now. It is required by the NEPA process and will be necessary for participants to understand how any action or actions recommended by the Roundtable or chosen by the DOT will impact the environment as well. As a resident of Penns Neck, I am very aware of and deeply concerned about the conditions of growth that confront us for the future. I am particularly interested in preserving as best we can the wonderful natural and cultural resources that we are fortunate to have and which define our Penns Neck neighborhood. I am therefore very appreciative of the trouble you have taken to present us with two new alternatives that clearly avoid or minimize impacts on wetlands, floodplains, wildlife habitat, water quality, and cultural resources, as well as provide traffic relief.
